Join the Glasgow Girls at a social media call

Be among the first to see scenes from a brand new musical at the social media call for Glasgow Girls, 31st October, 11.30am at the Citizens Theatre, Glasgow.

Based on the true story of one of the most vocal and powerful asylum campaigns to catch the imagination of the media and to inspire a community to unite behind its residents; Glasgow Girls is a new life-affirming musical for a multicultural Scotland.

At the Glasgow Girls social media call you can share all the action from inside the theatre online, as it happens.  You’ll see scenes from the show before it opens and meet the some of the cast and creative team.

The stellar team behind the show includes director Cora Bissett, who recently directed Olivier-winning Roadkill, and David Greig, one of Scotland’s most prolific playwrights and cocreator of National Theatre of Scotland hit, The Strange Undoing of Prudencia Hart. We will also be joined by a representative from the Scottish Refugee Council.

The brand new score features electronic grime from Patricia Panther, reggae-dub from Scots-Asian Rapper MC Soom T, folk/rock from Cora Bissett and additional songs from John Kielty (co-winner of Cameron Mackintosh’s Highland Quest for a New Musical).

If you enjoy keeping up with the latest news and conversations on Twitter, you’ll find our social media calls great fun. Informal and packed full of behind the scenes stories, they are a fantastic opportunity to find out more about how productions are put together, meet the people we work with and see what we do from a new perspective.

Previous social media call attendees have included bloggers, students, journalists, actors, filmmakers, marketers, photographers, writers, illustrators and lots of people who’ve taken the morning off work especially to take part.

If you’d like to join us on 31st October, drop a line to Digital Associate, Eve by email eve.nicol@nationaltheatrescotland.com or Twitter @NTS_Eve.  Please register in advance as places at the event are limited.
